In order to have a fulfilling life where the client is involved in what they do, engaged with the people around them, and has important goals, having good mental health is not only a nice-to-have. Mental health services also reduce the incidence of chronic diseases connected to stress, anxiety, and drug abuse. Most importantly, mental health therapies save lives while enhancing the perspectives of those who may feel lost and hopeless.
Therefore, the Mental Health Awareness programme helps kids who have a disorder overcome the stigma and get assistance. Because of this, their loved ones can reach out to support networks and gain a deeper understanding of their predicament.
Additionally, mental health offers protection by assisting people in recovering from adversity, readjusting to their new normal, and enduring harsh circumstances. The goal of mental health, according to a positive psychology practitioner, is to help clients become more focused on who and where they want to be rather than on what is wrong.
We are more prone to developing physical health issues like heart disease, stroke, and type 2 diabetes when we have poor mental health. Taking care of our mental health can also aid in the prevention of mental illness. Having good mental health enables us to view the world more positively and appreciate life more.
While it is important to maintain mental health at all ages, teens and young adults may benefit the most from attention because they are going through some of the biggest emotional, cognitive, and behavioural changes of their lives.
When our minds are in good shape, we appreciate our lives, our surroundings, and the people that inhabit them. We have the capacity to innovate, learn, explore, and take chances. In both our personal and professional lives, we are better equipped to handle challenging situations.
