Our Story & Mission | TARA Foundation

About Us

Our Roots (2002)

Tara Foundation was incorporated on 10th January 2002. We began as a home, Tara Bhavan, dedicated to orphaned children. Initially located at Kampung Kasipillai, Jalan Ipoh, the home provided shelter, education, healthcare, and emotional support to 45 children.

The Evolution (2019)

In 2019, Tara Foundation transitioned into a free tuition center with a broader and more ambitious aim: to help as many B40 families as possible escape the vicious cycle of generational poverty. Our core focus shifted entirely to early education as the key intervention point.

The Cycle of Poverty We Break

The cycle of poverty is a self-perpetuating pattern where families remain trapped in poverty generation after generation due to economic, social, and psychological barriers. We observed an alarming rate of school dropouts caused by a critical lack of early education.

Founder Dato' Pradip

"The lack of early education—such as poor reading, writing, and counting skills—becomes a stumbling block. This prevents access to higher-paying jobs, trapping them in a vicious, self-perpetuating cycle"

- Dato' Pardip Kumar Kukreja Founder & Chairman of Tara Foundation
MISSION: ZERO DROPOUTS

We focus on developing and sustaining the early education of children from underprivileged communities by catering to their unique learning needs via FREE after-school tuition, conveniently located within walking distance from Program Perumahan Rakyat (PPR) flats. Our method is designed to be highly effective and easily accessible.
