DESA MENTARI KIDS
No One has ever Become poor from giving
Tara Foundation has always had concerns on children’s welfare, health, social, emotional, and cognitive development, behaviour, and educational results are all negatively impacted by poverty. Poor nutrition, chronic illness, and mental health issues are just a few of the many health issues that children who are born into poverty are more likely to encounter.
The negative effects of poverty on our country’s children include subpar housing, homelessness, poor nutrition and food security, inadequate child care, a lack of access to health care, hazardous neighbourhoods, and underfunded schools.
In addition to the obvious everyday effects of hunger, illness, insecurity, and instability, children who live in poverty are more likely to struggle with low academic attainment, obesity, behavioural issues, and issues with their social and emotional development.
Children in poverty, especially those who rely on agriculture for their income, may have more children in order to support the family’s way of life. Even when they are very young, children are frequently assigned tasks like walking to fetch water, gardening, field work, and animal care.
TARA Foundation seeks to assist underprivileged children in Malaysia and has done so. Analysis of these and other data indicates that both theories may be at play: underprivileged children perform worse academically in part because their families have less money, but also because their parents are more likely to be uneducated, to be single parents or to be raising children while still in their teen years, to have poorer health, and to have other characteristics.
● LISTEN – With children, families, community, and religious leaders, we sit down and listen to their specific difficulties and needs.
● DEVELOPE – Together with the community, we create a long-term action plan that takes on the issues at their core.
● ACT – We collaborate with the community to address the identified needs and assist in putting the plan into action.
● TRAIN – We educate, empower, and assist the neighborhood’s residents in making long-lasting reforms.
Our work revolves around the children we assist. During the course of our work in their community, we teach them, work together, provide them with tools, and give them power so that when they become a healthier, safer, and more self-sufficient community, we may leave and move on to the next one. With the help of the kids’ families and communities, we help build their futures. We collaborate with local communities using our distinctive integrated development strategy to find long-term solutions for creating a sustainable and better future for kids.
